    A Turning Point

From sustaining what is, to regenerating what can be.

We are at a turning point as a human species — a moment that asks us to reverse the trajectory of climate change and answer an urgent call to repair and replenish the damage done to our environment and our communities.

"Regenerative principles are emerging as the future of tourism — with the capacity to create better conditions for people and life to flourish."

This white paper leverages case studies from hotels who may already be practicing regeneration without explicitly using the terminology, alongside a working lexicon of regenerative language. It moves readers from the theoretical to the practical applications of Regenerative Travel as a force for positive change.

We invite you to join the journey of co-evolution through regeneration as we build a shared framework for the regenerative principles of hospitality.

    The Argument

Hospitality, designed as a living system — not an extractive one.

Regenerative hospitality treats place, culture, ecology and guest as inseparable. When a hotel restores the watershed, employs the village, dignifies the cuisine and tells the truth about its land, it stops consuming the world and begins to renew it.

    Three Movements

    Repair. Replenish.
    Regenerate.

Regeneration is not a single act — it is a way of being in relationship with place. The paper traces three movements that any hotel, lodge or destination can begin to practice: tending to what has been broken, returning more than is taken, and designing for the long arc of life to flourish across generations.

    01 · Repair

Tend to what has been wounded.

Begin with the soil, the watershed, the displaced community. Hospitality earns its place by first attending to the harm that came before.

    02 · Replenish

    Return more than you take.

Source from the village, dignify the maker, restore the pollinator. A regenerative hotel is measured by what flourishes around it, not only inside it.

    03 · Regenerate

Design for life to keep unfolding.

The deepest work is co-evolutionary — building the cultural, ecological and economic conditions in which guests, hosts and place renew one another over time.

"When hospitality stops asking 'how do we sustain ourselves?' and starts asking 'how do we help life flourish here?' — the entire industry begins to change shape."
