Regenerative Travel was built as a community that supports hotels as they continually seek to embody the values of regeneration.
We promote the continual coevolution of each hotel by fostering best practice sharing, accountability through data collection and analysis, and by bringing diverse perspectives to the forefront.
"The only way we will be able to heal the earth is to improve our capability to be in relationship with ourselves and our communities."
Anna Pollock, founder of Conscious Travel
Our hotel ecosystem enables each independent property to amplify their impact.
By collecting and analyzing our set of Regenerative Metrics, hotels avoid greenwashing and establish meaningful benchmarks. This data-driven approach holds each property accountable to its goals of increasing social and environmental impact, ensuring that commitments translate into measurable progress.
We connect the individual actions of member hotels to broader frameworks like the Sustainable Development Goals and IPCC climate targets. By highlighting practical tools, key insights, and diverse perspectives, small independent businesses gain the resources they need to take on the world's biggest challenges together.
Hotel members gain access to a supportive community of like-minded peers as they grow and evolve. Team members from across each property can connect with counterparts at other hotels, building multiple relationships so the collective continually improves what we do throughout every level of our organizations.

Every member hotel reports across six dimensions of regenerative impact — creating transparency, accountability, and a shared language for progress.

Aligned with GSTC Criteria, Travalyst standards, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Each Regenerative Travel hotel is selected to join the collection based on their dedication to environmental and social impact. Our hotels embody the following standards & criteria:
Each of our hotels and experiences is deeply rooted in community and built to honor the destination itself. Our operations are harmonious with the natural environment, history, culture, and community fabric.
We make every effort to provide all guests with outstanding personal experiences that are authentic and respectful. Our travelers are often changed by their experience, discovering new things about the world and themselves.
We are committed to equity, inclusivity, and the continual work necessary to even out the current imbalance for historically excluded communities. Our hotels are overtly welcoming of all people—travelers, employees, and community members.
We prioritize safe and comfortable working conditions, provide fair wages and benefits, and take care of our employees. We show sound ethical values in every element of operations, taking into account the wellbeing of communities and ecosystems.
Our hotels identify the challenges faced by local communities and environments, actively work to address them, and empower others to do the same. We carefully consider ecological impacts—both locally and globally—in all of our decisions.
Our individual actions are amplified when shared with our community. We commit to transparency so that we can holistically evaluate our operations, be held accountable by our community, and continually coevolve our practices.
Cultivating the leaders our industry needs
Tourism is one of the world's largest economic forces — and one of its most consequential. The choices made by hoteliers, operators, and destination leaders ripple outward into ecosystems, communities, and local economies every single day. The Regenerative Travel Learning Series exists to equip those decision-makers with the mindset, tools, and peer network required to turn their businesses into a force for good for people, planet, and profit.
Since launching, our Learning Series has become a catalyst for measurable change across the global travel industry — moving participants from intention to implementation, and from isolated practice to a connected, growing movement of regenerative leaders.
Our cohorts bring together travel and hospitality professionals from every corner of the industry: independent hoteliers, tour operators, destination marketing organizations, conservation-focused entrepreneurs, sustainability consultants, and emerging leaders building the next generation of mission-driven businesses. Participants join from dozens of countries, creating a cross-cultural exchange of ideas, challenges, and solutions that no single classroom or conference can replicate.
The result is a living network — one where a boutique lodge owner in East Africa can learn alongside a community-based tourism cooperative in Latin America, a heritage hotel group in Southeast Asia, and a regenerative farm-stay operator in the Mediterranean.
Every participant enters the Learning Series with a real-world impact project — an initiative, business concept, or transformation they want to advance within their organization or community. This project-based structure is what distinguishes our program from traditional online courses. Learners don't just absorb content; they apply it directly to challenges they're working on right now.
By the end of the program, participants leave with:
The Learning Series drives change across four interconnected areas that mirror our course modules:
Participants learn to harness tourism revenue and operations as direct funding mechanisms for habitat protection, wildlife conservation, and ecosystem restoration — turning guests into long-term stakeholders in the places they visit.
Graduates leave equipped to design tourism models that center local voices, distribute economic benefits equitably, and protect cultural heritage rather than commodify it.
Through case studies and peer collaboration, participants build the relational skills required to align stakeholders — governments, NGOs, suppliers, communities, and guests — around shared regenerative goals.
Perhaps most importantly, the program develops the inner capacity required to lead this work: systems thinking, reflective practice, and the resilience to navigate complex, long-horizon change.
We believe transformative education should not be gated by geography or income. Our Access to Wealth pricing model, inspired by the principles of Dr. Bayo Akomolafe, invites participants to honestly reflect on their financial position — accounting for historical discrimination, dependents, accumulated wealth, and socio-economic context — and select a tier that reflects their reality.
This commitment ensures that practitioners from communities most directly affected by tourism's impacts are present in the conversation, shaping the future of the industry alongside everyone else.
The most meaningful impact of the Learning Series isn't measured in the hours of content delivered or certificates issued. It shows up in the projects participants launch, the partnerships they form within their cohort, and the cultural shift inside their organizations long after the final session ends.
Graduates become regenerative ambassadors within their teams, their destinations, and the broader industry — multiplying the program's reach far beyond any single classroom.
