Regenerative Travel Africa Symposium — Cape Town, 26 April 2027
    About the Symposium

    Where the Continent Meets Purpose

Africa's hospitality landscape sits at an inflection point. The land holds the story, the communities hold the knowledge, and the properties that understand this are the ones shaping what comes next. This symposium brings together the operators, advisors, and storytellers doing that work, for a day of dialogue grounded in place rather than abstraction.

This is our first edition of the symposium in Africa.

Set against Table Mountain in one of the continent's most storied hotels, the day is built for depth over breadth: keynote conversations, working panels, and a media lunch designed the way we do it best, seats rotated mid-course so every voice in the room actually meets the press.

    Key Themes

    Key Themes

    01

    Custodianship & Land Sovereignty

Who the land belongs to, who decides its future, and what it means for hospitality to operate as a guest on someone else's ground.

    02

    The Weight of Water

Scarcity is no longer a future risk in much of Africa's hospitality footprint. What operators are doing now, and what they're still avoiding.

    03

    Craft as Continuity

Traditional skills carry knowledge that doesn't survive in a brochure. Keeping craft alive as a living practice, not a museum piece.

    04

    The Cost of Crowds

As demand for African safari and coastal experiences climbs, so does the backlash. Building capacity without building resentment.

    05

    Growth Without Compromise

Scaling a regenerative property or portfolio without hollowing out the thing that made it regenerative in the first place.

    06

    Africa's Regenerative Roadmap

A closing, collaborative session: the shared commitments this room is willing to make, and the first actions that follow.
